What You Should Put On Your Wedding Invitations

Your wedding invitations are the first impression they’ll have of your big day.

After you’ve chosen the perfect invitation, it’s time to add the right wording that perfectly fit your event.

Here's what you should put on your invitation

Names

First name, (middle name) and surname of the couple

Location

Your guest will need to plan and take time off for your wedding. Indicate date (day, month, year and hour). Be as specific as possible so family and friends can plan accordingly.

Include reception line if the reception is being held at the same location as the ceremony. If your reception is at a different location, you should include the information on a separate card. If you choose a less traditional format, you might include a separate reception venue's details on your main invitation.

Date and start time of the wedding

Your guests will need to make their travel arrangements when they receive your invitation. Specifying the country (if it's a destination wedding or you have overseas guests), state, city and venue location only makes it easier for your guests to get there smoothly.
